Ms. Britton's Science

30+ Years of Teaching & Curriculum Creation

About

About Me

Ms. Britton's first occupational experience was spent at The Jamaica Association for the Deaf as the only Program Director, Audiologist, and Speech Pathologist, in the country. In developing and implementing that position, she created testing programs, utilized resources for the betterment of patients, and developed both national and international connections.

Ms. Britton's first four years in an American classroom were spent at The Anglo- American School of New York City, an independent, non-profit, co-educational, high school for English-speaking children of diplomats and members of the business community. From there, she worked at The Packer Collegiate Institute, voted one of the most prestigious New York State Independent Schools, for twenty-five years, initially as a Middle School Science Teacher and then as Middle School Dean.

Following Packer, Ms. Britton received the rewarding opportunity to create a middle-school curriculum for Harlem Academy, an Independent Day School. Lastly, before retiring, she thoroughly enjoyed her time, returning to the classroom at Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, where she worked for 10-years as ‘Master Teacher.’ At BPCS, Ms. Britton developed over a dozen school-customized development programs, created the science curriculum in its entirety for grades 6-8 and was a Grade Level Advisory Coordinator.

These experiences, over the span of 30+ years, has provided Ms. Britton the great opportunity to positively impact students that she now teaches, guides and creates with, on a one-on-one basis.

What Happy

Students &

Parents Say

Ms. Britton,

This is a fan letter.

If the rumors going around that you're retiring are true, then I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I appreciated your teaching, your approach, your rigor, and your values. I want to thank you for what you gave to my kids—first Sasha, then Soren—and to so many others. S&S were always fired up for your class; they weren't always relaxed, but that's a good thing. They were on their toes and they were ready. They felt your love of the subject matter, as did I.

You gave them something rare and special, and for that I thank you.

Good luck in whatever comes next for you and thank you thank you thank you.

With much respect,

Bill Shapiro
